Homes For Sale in Carolina Plantations
Carolina Plantations 28546
This gigantic neighborhood is located right across from the Carolina Forest Elementary School. The full master plan for this subdivision calls for it having roughly 970 homes. It is located outside of Jacksonville city limits (no city taxes) and features an onsite waste water treatment facility. This prevents each home from having to have a septic system, which would usually be a large drawback from not living in the city limits.
The first thing that draws your eye as you enter off of Ramsey Road are the two ponds with large, elegant fountains on both sides of the street. The subdivision sign is made of stacked-stone surrounded by a small, wrought-iron fence complete with evergreen shrubs and flowers. A divided median decorated with crape myrtle, maple, and others trees draws you in. The main access road is Carolina Plantations Boulevard, which is surrounded by sidewalks and small hills with trees made to form a privacy screen for the houses behind them. The common areas are well-kept and make for an impressive entrance.
The entire subdivision uses a mixture of vinyl siding along with brick and stone veneer for the exterior of the homes. Most, if not all, of the homes can be described as traditional style. Some of the homes have a slight craftsman-style influence with white trim and spindled porch columns. The vinyl colors vary from house to house, but most tend to stick to earth tones or fall colors with darker shutters.
